Introducing Super Shortcuts

Today we’re launching Super Shortcuts - a personal command layer for macOS.
Your Mac can do almost anything. The problem is reaching it. The action you want is three clicks deep in a menu, or behind a keyboard shortcut you can’t remember, or behind one you set yourself that now clashes with something else. So you reach for the mouse, and the small things you do a hundred times a day each cost a few seconds and a little focus. It adds up to a lot of both.
Super Shortcuts turns those small, repeated things into commands you fire instantly - by hyper key or by voice - scoped to the app you’re actually in.
What it does
- One key, no collisions. A hyper key on Caps Lock fires a modifier combo almost no app binds, so the shortcuts you build never clash with anything you already use.
- Scoped to context. The same chord means the right thing in each app.
Hyper + Rcan make text red in your editor and reply in your mail client - one key you remember, the correct action wherever you are. - A cheat sheet, always a hold away. Hold the hyper key and a cheat sheet drops over your keyboard showing exactly what’s bound right now, right here. You never have to memorize anything cold.
- Voice, when your hands are full. Hold to talk, release to run. Voice fires the same commands you built, transcribed on your Mac and never sent anywhere.
- Local-first and private. It runs on your Mac, offline, with no account. Every command is a workflow you can open, read, and edit. No black box.
Who it’s for
Anyone who lives on their Mac and would rather not live in its menus - developers, writers, designers, analysts, and power users who already feel the drag of reaching for the mouse all day. If you’ve ever wished your whole machine were as fast under your hands as your most-practiced app, this is for you.
The idea behind it
Shortcuts are the closest thing to a productivity cheat code, but they’re hard in all the wrong ways: every app is different, the defaults are arbitrary, and you forget the ones you set. We think the fix isn’t memorizing more - it’s building a layer that’s yours: collision-free, consistent across apps, and forgiving while you learn it.
